So, I think I've already fessed up to liking the new Mariah Carey cd. But there's a part of "Shake it Off" that I didn't quite understand and I've been too lazy to look up the lyrics. (Though, really, is anyone going to judge me too harshly for not looking up the exact words to a Mariah Carey song?) It goes like this:
and you keep on playing games
like you know I'm here to stay
I gotta shake you off
just like duh-duh-duhhh-da-da-duh
I really gotta get up out of here
After my run I did something uncharacteristic. I laid down on one of the benches along the edge of the soccer field inside the track. As I was lying there, this song was playing on my mp3 player and it came to me.
Just like a Calgon commercial.
She really didn't say that, did she?? Oh well. It's still a catchy song. Alex likes it, too.
While I'm on the subject, in "Gold Digger", in the chorus when Kanye is saying "get down girl, go 'head, get down" there's a little Jamie Foxx bit in the background. I assume he's saying "I gotta leave." But I swear it sounds like "I got a weave."
Ha! I LOVE the subject of lyrics and what people think they are!! I totally knew EXACTLY what part of the song you were talking about, immediately! I thought it was
JUST LIKE A CAB ON COMMISSION!!!! LOL
